dekeOnline Celebrates Its 44th "Weke"

Which is cause for celebration, of course. But it's also my way of saying, much may have happened since the last time you visited deke.com:

New Slickly Produced (and Somewhat Alarming) dekePod Video
For example, did you know that the mild-mannered Adobe Bridge might well be gobbling up the very last gigabytes of your hard drive and exposing your misdeeds? To learn more, check out dekePod 014: "Photoshop vs. Adobe Bridge--Beware the Cache, the Cache Must Die!"

It Doesn't Get Any Better than Free!
If you like to get really great free junk without paying for it, you're in luck. I've posted four more high-resolution, ultra-large, low-compression videos, otherwise exclusively available with my book Photoshop CS4 Channels & Masks One-on-One. To avail yourself of these eye-popping movies (available free for a limited time only), click this link and get downloading.

Comprehensive Video Series and Week-Long Pass
Want more videos like this? Then the place to go is my on-demand video partner lynda.com. (Better yet, click this link and get 7 days for free.) Not only do these folks have more than 35,000 videos, ready and waiting for you 24/7 at the click of a link. But more than 1,000 of those are mine! Immerse yourself in the shockingly comprehensive "Photoshop CS4 One-on-One: Fundamentals" or "Illustrator CS4 One-on-One: Fundamentals." But be forewarned, many who go in never come out.

Kick Off Your Shoes in the Dimly Lit dekeLounge
Brain fried? Too much info? Then kick off your shoes and join us for our every-weekly, audio-only podcast Martini Hour, in which I and my official dekeOnline sidekick Colleen Wheeler walk away from the worrisome world and drift into our favorite topics: computer graphics and digital imaging. You think a soundcast about visual topics could never work? Then pull up a chair, order a drink, and let us gently prove you wrong. (Artwork below by the deliciously talented Gale Franey.)

dekePods Joins the Ranks of Facebook
Got a moment? We'd love your help. Facebook is home to millions upon squillions of creatives, designers, and Photoshop and Illustrator aficionados. Shouldn't they all know about dekePod? If you think, "Sure, whatever, I guess," then join my dekePod Facebook page. Post your comments. Share with friends. Be a true-blue fan! Or a royal pain in the arse! (We're not choosy.)

But whatever you do, visit dekeOnline at your earliest opportunity.

All my v(irtual)-love;

Still waiting

:p

It ain't happening

You'll be getting a different one tomorrow.

For a change, Deke asks for help

Every once in a while, one of you asks me for help. Which is of course exceedingly cool b/c that's my job (not to mention, the larger purpose of this site). But I'm wondering if, over the next few days, you can return the favor. Our registered user base has grown faster than expected. (It's >8,100 at the moment.) That combined with some other mysterious issues seems to be inhibiting our ability to email out the most recent newsletter. If you're reading this, can you let me know when you receive this very newsletter via email? (If you haven't gotten it, sit tight. I just want to know when you get it.) Thx! --Deke

When did I receive this newsletter via email?

5 May

Nevermind

This newsletter will go down in the dekeOnline Book of Records as the one that never went out. And there was much rejoicing.
