Personal Information

Biography

Age: Older than (or at least as old as) dirt.
(at my age a biography becomes more of a chronology)

Landed first paid photographic job in 1963 when I was handed a speed graphic, an old Rollie, a beat up Graflex strobe and a press pass and told to “bring something back we can use” Owned my own studios for about 8 years in the 70's.

Purchased my first (real) computer in 1982 which was a bank of DEC PDP11-70s 6 feet tall and 9 feet long. The “state of the art” hard drives each resided in consoles that weighed about 500lbs each and held a whopping 80 megabytes. Communication with ArpaNet (or other systems) was speedy at a fast 300 baud.

Began writing HTML code (and designing web sites) in the mid 90's and acquired PS v3.0 (I recall) a short time later. Stayed with web design and (streaming) video editing up until 2008.

Graduated from film to digital about 5 years ago but still find myself thinking in ASA rather than ISO and occasionally check to see if the camera is “loaded” (sigh).

Currently “employed” as a retired, disabled veteran with way too much time on my hands.

Location
The far western reaches of what some call "The Land Of Fruits & Nuts"
