Making an Awful Photograph Awesome

In this week’s free Deke’s Techniques episode, Deke takes an awful photograph and makes it awesome in Camera Raw. Why would you do this, you ask? Well, what if you were underwater with some crazy Stellar sea lions in British Columbia and you really weren’t sure the next time you were going to brave chilly waters with with your DSLR?

With a little bit of Crop/Rotate, color adjusting, noise reduction in camera raw, and voila.

Now, what I really love about this video is that we shot the intro and out from Ushuaia, Argentina on our way to another cold water adventure, Antarctica. Antarctica where the penguins are many and the coronaviruses are few. Sigh.

If you’re a member of LinkedIn Learning, then Deke’s got an exclusive video for you this week which answers a question that only Deke would ask: “What if Rembrandt painted Stellar sea lions underwater in what is now Canada?”
