Bootleg Video: Why Is This Poncho-Clad Man Brandishing a Guitar on the Beach?

(An @akacolleen production in conjunction with and with encouragement to misbehave by @fake_deke studios.)

While Deke’s off the grid, I thought I’d post this bootleg footage I shot on the set of his new music video, “The Droplet Song.” Watch as Deke frolics with his guitar and his poncho in the surf. Strain your ears to catch snippets of the new tune above the howling winds at Ocean Beach. (I was actually holding the boom box with the audio playback in my other hand.) Watch as the director (Jonathan, running with the slate) and I suddenly realize to our horror that Deke’s twirling antics are going to catch us in the frame. All that mirth in about 0:39 seconds of undeniably bootleg-quality video. Happy Friday, dekeHeads! Hope you enjoy it enough to protect me when the real Deke returns.

  • Most excellent

Looks like a good time was had by all ;-P No wonder you needed the martinis to warm up afterwards.

  • Hurricane dekePod

    It’s so apropos, somehow. lol

  • Colleen, It sure looked like

    Colleen,

It sure looked like some very bad weather out there for a video shoot. It did look funny when you take it out of the context of the shoot. It was a little tough to see what was going on. You need to work on your paparazzi video technique.

Looking forward to the new Deke new project.

  • I ruined a good pair of shoes for that?

    Aw, C, why I oughta . . .

Just another gray day on a gray beach with a bunch of dudes chasing another dude around.

And yet, I’m convinced, you guys are gonna love this one. Best dekePod yet.

  • Cold… Wet… Foggy…. Windy…..

    Cold… Wet… Foggy…. Windy….. northern California at it’s most very bestest! I love it!

Thnx for the fun bootleg. Hope to see more fabulous beach shots in the future.

Perhaps you will manage to drag Deke away from the city up north to the more scenic Drake’s beach when next he visits the “promised land”.
